Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping
Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping is a precise diagnostic procedure used to identify the first lymph node(s) (“sentinel” nodes) that cancer is most likely to spread to from the breast. A special dye or radioactive tracer is injected near the tumor to help the surgeon locate and remove these nodes for examination. This technique helps determine whether cancer has spread, allowing for accurate staging and minimizing unnecessary removal of additional lymph nodes.
Our expert team uses advanced mapping technology to perform this procedure safely and effectively, often during breast cancer surgery. By targeting only key lymph nodes, we reduce the risk of complications such as lymphedema, while ensuring thorough and personalized cancer care.
